Lab Baseball Travel Teams

2022-2023 Lab Baseball Teams

Our organization is looking for youth baseball players from the Cape Cod area with aspirations to have long term success in the game of baseball. We will be hosting tryouts for the 9-16U age levels.

9-12U Teams

  • Goals:
    • With the younger groups, our focus will primarily be on building fundamental skills, baseball knowledge, and instilling the foundations of a lifelong love of baseball
  • Games:
    • Full spring season in the New Balance Select Baseball League
    • In addition to league games, teams will play a 6-10 game fall schedule
  • Practice & Training:
    • Our 10-12U teams will practice throughout the fall, winter, and spring, both in a team and a small group/individual setting
    • We will introduce our players to basic strength and conditioning concepts (push ups, planks, air squats, band work, etc.) throughout the year

13-14U Teams

  • Goals
    • The 13U and 14U teams will continue to build upon many of the same concepts our 10-12U teams are focused on
    • This includes developing a skill set that will help them not only progress to, but to succeed at the high school varsity level
    • These "skills that scale" will set up our players to be able to start separating themselves from their peers as they enter the high school ranks
  • Games:
    • New England Elite Baseball League throughout the spring and early summer
    • In addition to league games, teams will play a 6-10 game fall schedule
    • Will compete in a number of high profile tournaments around the Northeast
  • Practice & Training:
    • We believe that practice and individual/small group training in this age range is just as, or even more important than game play at this level
    • The only way to adequately prepare for that is to be dedicated to a full year practice and training schedule

15-16U Teams

  • Goals:
    • At the 15U-16U levels, we want to continue to ensure that our players have success at the high school level and start preparing them for the demands of high school and college baseball
    • As with all of our teams, our primary objective at this age group is the individual skill development of all of our players
    • In addition to preparing our players physically for high school and college baseball, we want to help aid in the process of finding the school that is the right fit for them
  • Games:
    • Centered around many of the bigger college recruiting tournaments and events in the Northeast throughout the summer
    • Mid-week games against other travel teams in the area
    • 10-12 games in the fall and in at least 1 tournaments
  • Practice & Training:
    • Practices and training will occur throughout most of the year for these teams
    • During the high school season, we will be focused on individual and small group sessions, with team practices happening more in the off-season

Playing for Lab Baseball will entail a serious, year-long commitment, which will require an above-average work ethic from each player. We are looking for young baseball players with the highest level of commitment and work ethic. Players are encouraged to play other sports, however we do expect them to find time throughout the year to work on baseball.

Our #1 priority as a program is individual player development. We want every player who walks through our doors to be better when they leave than when they walked in.
